1972 Freddie Lewis Indiana Pacers ABA Championship Playoff MVP Award

The award itself was made by bronzing the Adidas shoe that he wore during the 1972 ABA playoffs. It measures 15” x 6” across its wooden base. There is a gold plaque which reads “Freddie Lewis American Basketball Association Most Valuable Player 1972 Play-Off Indiana Pacers - Champions”. It is in EX-NM overall condition with light surface scratching and is accompanied by a LOA from Freddie Lewis.

Notes: This lot came to us directly from Freddie Lewis, a very good six-foot guard who could pass, shoot, and defend equally well. He was drafted by the NBA's Cincinnati Royals in 1966. After one season of limited playing time with the Royals, he moved to the rival ABA, spending the next seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers. This award was part of his collection.
