1975 Baltimore Claws Prototype Road Jersey
On the left front tail of the jersey is the "Brooks Robinson Sporting Goods" manufacturer's tag. Attached below are two flag tags, size "44" and "2" L-B." Across the front of the jersey is "BALTIMORE." Below on the front and back is the player number "45." All lettering and numbering is done in yellow on white tackle twill. The jersey shows no wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
Notes: Originally one of the ABA's charter franchises, the New Orleans Buccaneers moved to Memphis in 1970, changed their name to the Pros, the Tams and finally the Sounds. Prior to the 1975-1976 season, which turned out to be the ABA's last, a group of Maryland businessmen bought the troubled Memphis franchise and relocated it to Baltimore. The prospective team name "Hustlers" was changed to "Claws" after a league objection. After a few exhibition games, the Claws folded due to financial difficulties and their players were put into a dispersal draft.
