Circa 1975 Maurice Lucas Rookie Era Spirits of St. Louis Game-Used & Autographed Road Jersey

On the right front tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “44”. Across the front is “Spirits of St. Louis”. Player number “20” appears on both the front and back. Player name “LUCAS” appears on back. All numbers and letters are done in white on black tackle twill. Lucas has signed the front in black marker adding the inscription “To My Friend Jack” rating a 7. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use.

Notes: In 1973, the Carolina Cougars of the ABA obtained that league's rights to Mo Lucas in the first round of the ABA draft. In 1974, Lucas was also selected by the Chicago Bulls of the NBA with the 14th pick of the NBA draft. Lucas chose the ABA over the NBA, joining the Spirits of St. Louis team, which had since supplanted the Carolina Cougars. During his first season, Lucas averaged 13.2 points per game, and 10 rebounds per game, and he was chosen for the 1974–75 ABA All-Rookie second team.
